A Unityville woman escaped injury in a collision with a train by the Forman Street off-ramp to U.S. Route 219 on Tuesday afternoon.
Bradford City Police reported that at 4:04 p.m., a car driven by Paige Ann Wilson, 18, was traveling east on Forman Street approaching the railroad tracks.
A rail car from the Genesee & Wyoming Railroad Co. was traveling north on the railroad tracks. As the rail car approached the intersection with Forman Street, the horn was sounded and the railroad crossing lights began to flash.
Police said Wilson did not see or hear the warning signs and struck the rail car in the front steps before veering off onto Tarport Drive — the entrance for the Holiday Inn Express. The train remained on the tracks.
There were no injuries. Wilson’s car was severely damaged and was towed from the scene.
Wilson will be cited for failing to obey a signal indicating the approach of a train.
