SMETHPORT — A Port Allegany man is in McKean County Jail in Smethport for allegedly using someone else’s credit card and another person’s personal check without permission.
Stacy Alan Yeager, 36, of Skinner Creek Road, is charged with forgery, a second-degree felony; two counts of theft by unlawful taking and one of access device fraud, all third-degree felonies.
Court records said on Tuesday, state police were called to a Port Allegany residence for a report of Yeager using someone’s credit card to make purchases and cash advances for $1,497.29; and another person’s personal check for $525.
The trooper spoke to Yeager, who admitted he had used the card and the check, and told police he used the money “to pay a bookie,” court records read.
Yeager was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Bill Todd and remanded to jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Jan. 12.
