KANE — A Kane woman will face a preliminary hearing in January for alleged welfare fraud.
Kasey Chittester, 33, of 222 Park Ave., is facing one count of welfare fraud, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Court records filed with Magisterial District Judge David Engman said on May 31 and prior, she failed to report her employment at Texas Hots in Kane, collecting $2,929 in food stamps and heating assistance funds to which she was not entitled.
She was arraigned earlier this month before Engman and released on $2,500 bail. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. Jan. 3 before Engman.
