RIDGWAY — A St. Marys man wanted in connection with an incident at a Jones Township camp on Friday turned himself in Wednesday afternoon.
Ridgway-based state police said Randall G. Nero, 60, is charged with aggravated assault, a second-degree felony; simple assault and possessing an instrument of crime, first-degree misdemeanors; recklessly endangering another person, a second-degree misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a third-degree misdemeanor.
Police said Nero entered a camp at 164 Naval Hollow Road and argued with the multiple occupants of the camp. He was asked to leave, but pulled a handgun from his jacket pocket, pointed it at Damien Dippold, 61, while he was standing near him and then fled the scene, police reported.
No one was injured in the alleged altercation, police reported.
Nero was arraigned Wednesday afternoon before Magisterial District Judge James Martin in Johnsonburg, and remanded to jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Dec. 28 before Martin.
