KANE — The Kane Area High School cheerleading team traveled to Cranberry High School and came home with a second place in the small varsity division. Meanwhile, Krisalyn Rhodes won the senior jump off at the event.
Coach Chris Niklaus said the squad had a rough time at Cranberry last year.
“We did improve from last season, but did take a few steps back this week,” said Niklaus. “Our issues right now are mental toughness and ability to get to the next level. The focus over the next couple of weeks will be to clean some things up and work on being mentally tough when the time counts.”
Niklaus said the team is young and is working hard to improve at practice.
“Congratulations to Krisalyn for winning the jump off,” Niklaus said. “There was lots of great talent in the jumping and for her to get that win was awesome.”
