On Thursday, Keystone Powdered Metal Co. became a member of a select group of suppliers to General Motors to win the 2015 Supplier Quality Excellence Award at its Lewis Run manufacturing plant.
This is the second consecutive year for Keystone Lewis Run.
The award was presented by Muhammed Odeh, the supplier quality engineer for the Transmission Division for the 6T70 Parking gear. Keystone Powdered Metal Co. is one of 347 supplier locations in the United States and Canada and 930 companies worldwide honored by GM. It was the fourth year this award has been presented to suppliers.
The award is given to specific manufacturing locations and only top performing suppliers are eligible to receive it — those who have demonstrated the highest levels of quality performance over the previous 12 months. Winners meet or exceed a stringent set of quality performance criteria along with cross-functional support of the entire GM organization.
Curt Lindell, the plant manager at Lewis Run, said, “This recognition symbolizes the pride of our employees who make this award possible again this year.” Representing our corporate office were Masa Hanada, chairman, CJ Kogovsek, president and CEO, Mike Werner, vice president sales & marketing, and Denny Piccirillo, vice president quality assurance. Representing the Lewis Run facility along with Lindell were Jim Howard, engineering manager, and Terri Niver, quality assurance manager.
By winning this award, Keystone Powdered Metal Co. is viewed in the GM system as a trusted supplier that provides above expectations.
