The United Way of the Bradford Area has reached 85 percent of its campaign goal, officials announced on Tuesday.
Officials said as the end of the 2016 United Way campaign, “Color Our World A Better Place,” nears, there is still $50,000 to be raised to reach the $340,000 goal — but local personnel are confident it can be done.
“We’ve seen the generosity of this community time and time again, and we know the work being done with United Way funding is imperative to the successes of our area, so right now we’re feeling good about our status,” said United Way Executive Director Mandi Wilton Davis.
Led by campaign co-chairs Heather and Andy Bell, this year’s efforts will be used to fund 20 programs and services provided by 14 local non-profit agencies beginning on Jan. 1, 2017. With quarterly funding awards, Davis said those numbers will likely double by the end of the 2017 calendar year.
“We average 40 funded programs and services annually, which is a true testament to the wonderful work being provided by our local non-profits. Each are continuing to meet the needs of our community based on their organizational mission, and we’re so proud to collaborate with each of them,” said Davis.
