A Bradford man accused in a domestic incident had one charge withdrawn on Wednesday, while a similar charge with a less severe grading was adding to the case.
Jeffery Wilson Morton, 43, of Bradford, appeared for a preliminary hearing Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Dominic Cercone.
Bound to McKean County Court were charges of simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; harassment, a summary charge; and one newly added charge: false imprisonment, a second-degree misdemeanor. Meanwhile, a charge of unlawful restraint, a first-degree misdemeanor, was withdrawn by one of the assistant district attorneys.
Court records said from 4 p.m. Oct. 21 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 22, Morton kept a female victim inside his residence, not allowing her to leave and physically assaulted her.
Morton, who was committed to McKean County Jail in Smethport on Nov. 4, was released Wednesday after posting $10,000 bail, court records indicate.
