KANE — Three people suffered serious injuries in a near head-on collision at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Route 6 in Keating Township near the intersection with Stickles Hollow Road.
Kane-based state police said a sport-utility vehicle driven by Hannah Hollowell, 18, was traveling west on Route 6 near Stickles Hollow when the SUV crossed the center line, resulting in an impact with the front of a full-sized pickup truck driven by Joseph Bradford, 55, of Port Allegany.
The vehicles collided in the eastbound travel lane.
Hollowell and Bradford received moderate injuries, and were flown to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, N.Y., for treatment. A passenger in Bradford’s truck, Yvonne Bradford, 55, of Port Allegany, suffered major injuries, and was also flown to ECMC for treatment.
Hollowell was wearing her seatbelt. However, neither of the Bradfords was wearing safety restraints.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Assisting at the scene were the Smethport Police Department, Smethport Fire Department, Port Allegany Fire Department, Norwich Township Fire Department, Priority Care Ambulance, Port Area Ambulance, Medic-6 from Coudersport; fire police from Smethport and Port Allegany; Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and a tow company.
