CLEARFIELD — A Route 49 bridge in Potter County that’s been under construction as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, is complete and open to traffic.
The bridge spans a branch of Cowanesque Creek near the village of Mills. Replacement of the bridge allows PennDOT to remove it from Potter County’s structurally deficient bridge list.
The bridge reopened to traffic on Friday. Replacement work was performed by LC Whitford.
The new crossing is longer and wider than the one it replaced and is designed with a 100-year lifespan.
