COUDERSPORT — A Port Allegany man is facing allegations he broke into a home in Austin Borough and assaulted two people.
Ronald Thomas Harmon, 22, of 89 Lower Portage Road, waived a preliminary hearing Monday before District Judge Annette Easton on charges of burglary, a first-degree felony; criminal trespassing, a second-degree felony; criminal mischief and two counts of harassment, all summary charges, court records stated.
Coudersport-based state police reported that at 2:30 a.m. Nov. 11, Harmon broke into a 12 Maple Lane residence after breaking a window, then breaking through the front door. He had a temporary protection from abuse order stating he was not to have contact someone at the home.
Court records further described the break-in, saying Harmon was banging on the front door, then punched the bedroom window out with his fist before slamming into the front door.
According to court records, once inside the home, Harmon twice shoved a female — with whom he was not to have contact — and punched a man “repeatedly” in the head.
He remains incarcerated in Potter County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail, court records stated.
