ALLEGANY, N.Y. —The Cattaraugus County Art Council’s annual fundraiser, the 5×7 Art for Everyone Exhibition and Sale, will be held on Dec. 3 in Allegany.
Organizers said the public is invited to the lively art party where ticket holders will vie for their favorite artwork among hundreds of donated 5’x7” pieces adorning the gallery wall, as well as a festive holiday tree or two loaded with handmade ornaments.
There are two ticket prices for the event. For $15 per person general admission, guests will enjoy happy hour beverages and appetizers while browsing the artwork before staking their claim. Only 15 first-pick tickets will be sold at $30 each. These ticket holders get to choose one artwork before the sale opens to everyone else. Increasing the suspense, a few selections on the gallery wall remain wrapped and off-limits during the first-pick round.
Organizers said professional and amateur artists alike donate the artwork anonymously and all are sold for the uniform price of $25. Paintings, drawings, photography, ceramics, fiber and jewelry can all be had at the event.
Art collectors are encouraged to buy their first-pick tickets early. Tickets can be purchased at the Cattaraugus County Art Council at 100 West Main St. in Allegany between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, by phone at (716) 372-7455, and online atwww.myartscouncil.net.
The annual fundraiser helps the Cattaraugus County Art Council finish the year strong as it continues to provide classes, workshops and other programming.
