FROSTBURG, Md. — Fatimah Williams and Michelle Obasi combined for 38 points to lead Rutgers-Camden to a 73-58 victory over the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in the first round of the Jim Crawley Tournament on Friday.
Williams scored a team-high 20 points, while Obasi added 18.
The duo was backed by Caroline Santiago’s 12 points and Gabby Greene’s 10 tallies.
Rutgers-Camden took control of the contest right from the start, opening a 20-7 lead late in the first quarter.
By halftime R-C had a 23-point advantage and cruised to the win from there.
Leading Pitt-Bradford was Shirleah Ragin with a game-high 21 points. Brittany Watts added 15 and Bradford (Pa) High graduate Ali Rinfrette finished with 11.
UPB (0-1) will play York from New York in today’s consolation game to determine the third place finisher. York lost to host Frostburg, 84-29, in Friday’s other game.
