A Florence Street man is facing two criminal cases for allegedly walking around his neighborhood naked — and police say he’s been convicted of similar conduct multiple times in the past.
David Loren Springer, 53, of 34 ½ Florence St., is charged in one case with open lewdness, a third-degree misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a summary offense. In the second case, he’s charged with two counts of indecent exposure, one a first-degree misdemeanor and one a second-degree misdemeanor; and one count of open lewdness, a third-degree misdemeanor.
Court records said on July 8, at 2:12 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of Forman and Amm streets for a naked man walking around in the area. Police saw Springer on Amm Street before he jumped a fence and headed toward Forman Street.
Police found Springer hiding behind a house on Amm Street and told him to stay where he was. Instead, he took off running.
In the second case, at 11:38 p.m. Aug. 5, Springer went outside his apartment naked and stood hear the sidewalk for an extended period of time, during which he was observed by a neighbor and a 5-year-old child. When police arrived, Springer went in his home and refused to answer the door.
Police noted “defendant has been charged and convicted multiple times in the past for this same type behavior,” court records read.
He is jailed in lieu of $2,500 bail in each case. He is scheduled to appear for preliminary hearings before Magisterial District Judge Dom Cercone at 9 a.m. Nov. 30.
