MARIENVILLE — A James City man died last week after being struck by a falling tree while on the job in a remote wooded area off Forest Route 396B in Howe Township, Forest County.
Marienville-based state police said around 2:25 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 10), Matthew Burton, 31, was operating a log skidder when he was struck by a falling tree.
Forest County Coroner Norman Wimer pronounced Burton dead at the scene, police said.
Police are calling the death accidental. An investigation continues, according to police.
