SMETHPORT — A Huntingdon man will serve a term in state prison after pleading guilty Thursday in McKean County Court to allegations he reported a false burglary
Timothy W. Durgan Jr., 24, entered a guilty plea to a charge of false swearing-misleading a public servant. On Oct. 29, Durgan misled a state trooper by reporting that someone broke into his residence and took a 55-inch television and a Sony stereo, when Durgan actually sold the items to McKean County E-Sales, Assistant District Attorney Sean Barrett said. He will serve six months to two years in state prison.
Also in court, Monica B. McKinney, 19, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges of corruption of minors, retail theft and smelling/inhaling toxic releasing substances. According to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, on Sept. 17, McKinney encouraged a 14-year-old to steal a can of computer duster valued at $4 and showed the teen how to inhale it to get intoxicated; the juvenile was then taken to the emergency room at Bradford Regional Medical Center to be checked. She will be sentenced Dec. 15.
Russell S. Ferraro Jr., 36, of Kane, pleaded guilty to a charge of defiant trespassing and a summary charge. Shaffer said on Sept. 16, Ferraro entered the residence of Josh Bodistow, failing to leave even though he had been told not to be there. Bodistow is also facing charges including aggravated assault in the incident, as he allegedly struck Ferraro in the head with a crowbar, court records indicate. Shaffer further explained that Ferraro is accused of taunting Bodistow, saying, “Hit me. Hit me. If you don’t, I will.” The case against Bodistow is not yet concluded. He will be sentenced Dec. 1.
Reuben S. Stuckey, 34, of Smethport, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft by unlawful taking and a summary charge. On Nov. 5, Stuckey stole someone’s iPhone 6 valued between $600 and $800, and he took merchandise from McKean County E-Sales valued at $169, according to Barrett. He will be sentenced Dec. 15.
Roxann L. Schlopy, 42, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct and a summary charge. On June 24 in Bradford City, Schlopy appeared in public intoxicated to the point she may have endangered herself or others, according to Shaffer. She will be sentenced Dec. 15.
Mary Lou Hodgdon Silvis, 51, of Port Allegany, pleaded guilty to a charge of retail theft. Barrett said on July 1, Silvis took numerous items from the Dollar General store in Eldred valued at $60.25. She will be sentenced Dec. 15.
Gary C. Hornish, 24, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use and possession of drug paraphernalia. He will serve nine months of probation.
Meanwhile, several other criminal cases moved forward during the last week in October, court records indicate.
Kristen A. Moore, 33, of Bradford, will serve one to two years in state prison on charges of conspiracy to commit burglary and theft by unlawful taking.
Lindsay A. Bay, 21, of Bradford, was sentenced to five days to six months in McKean County Jail on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and a summary charge.
Marcia L. Nelson, 58, of Kane, 58, of Kane, was sentenced to six months in the Intermediate Punishment Program on a charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
Darcy L. Rau, 56, of Limestone, N.Y., was sentenced to six months of probation on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Timothy M. Roche, 60, of Port Allegany, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. He will be sentenced Dec. 9.
