SMETHPORT — A Bradford man accused of having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court.
Paul M. Hensley, 34, entered a guilty plea to charges of statutory sexual assault: 11 or more years older and unlawful contact with a minor.
On April 29 — when Hensley was 33-years-old — he had sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl, according to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg Shaffer.
President Judge John Pavlock noted that Hensley would have to undergo a sexually violent predator evaluation before he was sentenced, and he will have to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law.
Hensley will be sentenced March 2, 2017.
He remains incarcerated in McKean County Jail in Smethport in lieu of $100,000 bail.
When Hensley was first charged, his charges included a count of rape. Court records filed at that time had indicated he told her he’d kill her if she didn’t have sex with him or if she told anyone about it.
