The First Wesleyan Church of Bradford will show the animated classic “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” at 7 p.m. Saturday inside the church at 692 S. Kendall Ave.
Those attending Saturday night’s showing will be treated to popcorn, hot chocolate and a tasty treat. Due to the weather, the Charlie Brown holiday special will be shown inside the church. The event is free and open to the public.
Members of the church obtained the rights to the holiday classic last month from Iconix Brands Inc. The idea to show all three Peanuts holiday specials came about after Pumpkinville in Great Valley, N.Y. was named one of the “Most sincere pumpkin patches in the United States” by Peanuts Worldwide Inc. Members of the church had been showing drive-in movies over the summer and felt “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” would be a great addition to their Fall Drive-In Movie Festival.
After finding the owner of the copyright to the Peanuts Halloween special, the church learned they could get permission to show all three Peanuts holiday classics.
For more information about the church’s holiday schedule of events, including Camo Sunday, contact the Rev. Terri Niver at the First Wesleyan Church of Bradford at 814-368-7865. A date for the showing of a “Charlie Brown Christmas” will be announced early next month.
