RIDGWAY — A Johnsonburg woman and a Kersey man are facing charges including aggravated assault for the alleged abuse and neglect of a two-year-old girl in October.
Ridgway-based state police said Deborah Marie Schmitz, 20, of Willow Street, Johnsonburg, and Matthew James Mercer, 28, of Main Street, Kersey, are both being charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.
Police gave little details on the incident, only saying it took place in the morning hours of Oct. 24 on Main Street in Fox Township.
