KANE — Megan’s Law-related charges filed against a local man in June were bound to McKean County Court at a preliminary hearing held Monday before Magisterial District Judge David Engman.
Edmond David Thornton, 59, of Bradford, is charged with transient-failure to register with state police, and transient-failure to verify address or be photographed, both second-degree felonies, court records stated.
Court records said Thornton, a Tier 3, transient sex offender who must register monthly and quarterly with state police, failed to appear at the Kane state police barracks in April, May and June to register. He was reportedly found in Sheridan, Wyo.
Thornton remains incarcerated in McKean County Jail in Smethport in lieu of $25,000 for the case.
