More charges have been filed against a Duke Center woman who was accused of pretending to raise money to benefit a man who was injured in an accident.
Tiffany Lynn Osborne, 34, of 75 Grant St., was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Richard Luther on charges of corruption of minors, a first-degree misdemeanor; and three counts each of deceptive business practices, all second-degree misdemeanors; and theft by deception and receiving stolen property, all third-degree misdemeanors, according to court records.
The charges stem from allegations that between Aug. 24 and 29, Osborne and her juvenile daughter took a total of $74 from three people under the guise that she was selling pizzas as part of a benefit for a local man who was injured in an accident.
However, Osborne was not part of the benefit nor did she deliver money to the benefit. Also, she did not order or deliver any pizzas to the victims, court records indicate.
She was released on $10,000 unsecured bail in the new case, the same amount that was set in the first case.
On Oct. 14, Osborne was arraigned on similar charges: four counts each of theft by deception, receiving stolen property and deceptive business practices, all misdemeanors. Those charges stemmed from allegations that starting on July 24 — the day after the man was in the accident — she started selling pizzas under the guise of helping the man, court records indicated.
She allegedly took money from four people in exchange for pizza in the first case.
Osborne is scheduled to appear in Central Court for both cases on Nov. 17.
