Scarnati appears to retain Senate seat on Tuesday

It appears that state Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati, R-Brockway, will retain his seat in the Senate for another term in office.

Unofficial election returns collected by the Pennsylvania Department of State indicate that Scarnati had a sizable lead over Democratic competitor Jerri Buchanan. The pair was vying for a Senate seat in Pennsylvania’s 25th Senatorial District.

This will be Scarnati’s fifth term in the Senate.
