SHINGLEHOUSE — What started out as a favor to a friend ended up with two felony charges lodged against a Shinglehouse man.
Brandon Keiser, 29, is charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, second-degree felonies.
Court records said on Oct. 16, a woman contacted Keiser from her friend’s home in Olean, N.Y., and asked him to go to her Shinglehouse home to get her laptop and a few other things and deliver them to her. Police said when Keiser went to her house, he got what she asked for, but also took $300 in currency and two handguns.
Keiser took the requested items to the woman, but kept the cash and guns. Between Oct. 18 and 21, he took the guns to Allegheny Arsenal in Bradford and told them the guns for a total of $550, court records read.
He was arraigned Friday before on-call Magisterial District Judge Annette Easton and released on $50,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing in the matter is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Nov. 22 before Magisterial District Judge Kari McCleaft in Shinglehouse.
