SMETHPORT (EC) — The Smethport Fire Department responded Monday afternoon to a report of a gas leak in the 200 block of East Water Street in the borough.
Firemen investigated the incident and found a natural gas leak near a clothes dryer. After shutting off the gas supply to the dryer, firemen advised the owner to contact a certified professional service technician.
The department’s fire police handled traffic control.
