Bradford Little Theatre is excited to welcome the Pitt Improvers, Pitt-Bradford’s own improv group to the stage, for two shows on Saturday at Togi’s Playhouse.

Improv comedy is where performers are given a suggestion and create a scene on the spot without a script. Each show is unique and no two are ever the same.

“We have fun doing improvised comedy skits that involve a good amount of audience participation,” said Laura Klitsch, a member of group.

The improv performance group will take the stage at Togi’s Playhouse for their third time Saturday for two shows; a family-friendly performance at 7 p.m., and a PG-13 show at 9 p.m.

“The proceeds from the show are important for training and buying supplies for our team,” Klitsch said.

Ticket sales also help raise money for the students to take part in improv workshops in New York City, Pittsburgh and Chicago with improv professionals. They most recently attended shows and a workshop at the famous iO Theater in Chicago where Chris Farley, Tina Fey, Mike Myers, Tim Meadows and Amy Poehler have all performed.

“The BLT show is one of my favorite shows to do, the audience is always so engaged, and we (as a team) and the audience always have a blast,” president Donovan Brown of the Pitt Improvers said.  

Students of many different majors audition for the club to share their love for performing. The Pitt Improvers have also performed in Kiwanis Kapers and for clubs in town.  

Tickets will be available at the door and are $5 for one show and $8 for both.  

“I’m very excited for our third BLT show,” said vice president Justin Conley of the Pitt Improvers said.

The shows will be at Togi’s Playhouse, 18 Welch Ave.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
