Charges including endangering the welfare of a child against a Bradford woman were bound to court Wednesday at a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Dom Cercone.
Tessa Fair, 25, of 44 Minard Run Road, is charged with recklessly endangering another person and unsworn falsification to authorities, both second-degree misdemeanors. The endangering the welfare of a child charge, a first-degree misdemeanor, was added prior to the preliminary hearing Wednesday by the McKean County District Attorney’s office.
Court records said at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 23, at 8 Hill St. in Bradford, Fair was riding a four-wheeler with her one-year-old son strapped to her chest in an unsafe manner. She subsequently wrecked the four-wheeler, “causing a substantial head injury to the child,” the records read.
She then provided false information in a written statement to police, court records allege.
Fair remains free on $5,000 unsecured bail. She is represented by the McKean County Public Defender’s office.
