SMETHPORT — A Smethport man waived his preliminary hearing Thursday in McKean County Court for allegations that he took money for home repairs that he didn’t do.
Richard Dinch Sr., 56, of 761 Open Brook Road, is charged with theft by unlawful taking and theft by deception, third-degree felonies.
According to court records, in June 2015, the victim gave Dinch $2,500 to replace a roof on a building on East Valley Road in Smethport. Dinch did not do the work, and the victim was unable to contact him at the provided numbers.
Dinch remains in McKean County Jail on $10,000 bail.
