Less than a week before the presidential election, the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford will hold a Behavioral and Social Sciences Symposium to examine the contest.
The symposium will take place at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 in Rice Auditorium in Fisher Hall. Speakers are Dr. Stephen Robar, associate professor of political science, and Margaret Satterwhite Brown, instructor of mass communications.
Robar will speak on “How Class, Race and Culture Have Fueled Right-Wing Populism, Ideological Zealotry and Driven Political Polarization.”
Robar will examine where the country is headed economically, politically and culturally after the Nov. 8 election – regardless of who wins.
Brown will speak about the use of the media by the candidates and their supports.
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
