LITTLE VALLEY, N.Y. — A man who at one time lived in Bradford, Pa., was sentenced Monday in Cattaraugus County Court to several years of incarceration on charges in multiple cases.
All the cases against Benjamin J. Bloomfield, 39, of Olean, involve sexual misconduct, Cattaraugus County District Attorney Lori Pettit Rieman indicated in a press release.
Rieman said Bloomfield was convicted in one case of charges of third-degree rape, a felony; and third-degree assault and obstructing governmental administration for allegations that on Feb. 13, in Olean, he forced another person to have sexual contact with him, then obstructed the administration of law or another governmental function.
Law enforcement officials said at the time charges were filed that the victim was a 21-year-old woman.
He will serve four years in state prison and three years of post-supervision release for the above case, Rieman said.
In a second case, Bloomfield was convicted of two counts of third-degree rape, both felonies; and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, on allegations that between June and Sept. 3 in 2014, in Olean and Portville, he had sexual intercourse with a person who was less than 17-years-old, according to Rieman. She said he will serve two years in state prison and three years of post-release supervision for the case.
Finally, in a third case, Bloomfield is convicted of second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor, on allegations that on Nov. 1, in Olean, he was in a building without permission, Rieman said. She indicated he would serve a one-year term for the case, but she did not say what the nature of the punishment would be.
The press release didn’t specify if he would serve the various sentences consecutively — or one after another — or concurrently — at the same time.
