EMPORIUM –– Emergency responders were called to a report of an unconfirmed death at 92 S. Wood St. in Emporium around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to initial reports.
Emporium-based state police would not provide details of what happened when contacted for comment late Wednesday night.
But a passerby told The Era that an ambulance was on scene, and the road was blocked off. Police had cones and police tape up, and emergency vehicles had their lights off.
“Regular vehicles parked across the road to keep people from driving down that way,” the individual also said.
No further information was available at press time late Wednesday night.
