The First Wesleyan Church of Bradford will hold two movie nights this weekend, one Friday and one Saturday.
Both films will begin at dusk around 8:30 p.m.
A back-to-school drive-in movie night will be held Friday at the church, located at 692 S. Kendall Ave.
The feature presentation on Friday will be two animated shows from the award-winning animated series “Superbook.” These animated shows are part of a “Superbook” series titled “Superbook Explorer,” which includes music videos, drawing lessons and historical information. The “Superbook Explorer” presentations are meant to be a fun, confidence-building experience.
Then, on Saturday, church members will show the film “Brother White,” a fish-out-of-water comedy about a white pastor who gets assigned to a predominantly black church that is about to close its doors. The film stars David A.R. White, Reginald VelJohnson of “Die Hard and “Family Matters” fame, and actress Jackee of the television show “227.” The film also has appearances by “Saturday Night Live” alumna Victoria Jackson and actors Bruce Davidson and Ray Wise.
Drinks and popcorn will be available for those attending both films.
Should the weather be a factor for any of the movies, one or both of the films will be moved to a later date. The events are free and open to the public. Attendees are asked to bring a folding chair, as seating is limited.
