SMETHPORT (EC) — Warren and Bonnie Semmel of Smethport are marking their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
Warren and the former Bonnie Williams were married on Jan. 15, 1966, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in their hometown of Lehighton.
They are the parents of Warrie Dickinson of Smethport and Dr. Brady (Dana) Semmel of Wilmington, N.C. The couple also has two grandchildren.
Mrs. Semmel retired in 2007 after 27 years as a legal secretary. In 2003, her husband retired after 37 years with the Smethport Area School District. He remains very active as a longtime Boy Scout leader.
The Semmels are members of the United Methodist Church of Smethport.
A family celebration will be held at a later date.
