PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. — Erin Laird, daughter of Robert and Brenda Laird of Limestone, and Anthony Zachariadis, son of Kostas and Kalliopi Zachariadis of Manhasset Hills, were united in marriage on June 6 at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Port Washington with the Rev. Dennis Strouzas officiating.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Andrea Laird of Wilmington, S.C., served as maid of honor, Samantha D’Annunzio of New York served as matron of honor, and Maria Zachariadis of New York served as the koumbara, or Greek maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Kipley of New York and Kirsten Shuck of Brooklyn.
Flower girls were Madison Laird of Allegany and Sophia Failla of Smithtown, and the ring bearer was John Asters of New York.
Zach Zachariadis of Hollywood, Calif., served as the best man. Groomsmen were Alexander Bleich of Somerville, N.J., Robert Laird of Bradford, Pa., Greg Zachariadis of Dix Hills and Andoni Zachariadis of Athens, Greece.
Eleni Kauffman and Georgia Kauffman provided music for the ceremony.
A reception was held at Guastavino’s in New York with entertainment by PowerStation.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Italy, Greece and Croatia.
The reside in Astoria.
The bride graduated in May 2002 from Allegany-Limestone High School with a Regents Diploma. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from New York University in May 2006 and a master of science education degree in childhood special education from Hunter’s College in June 2010. She is an elementary special education teacher for the New York City Department of Education.
The groom graduated from Herricks High School in June 2000. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in communication with honors from Adelphi University in May 2004 and a master of humanities & sciences degree in communications from Fordham University in May 2006.
He is a property manager at TZM Realty and an associate producer at Sportsnet New York.
