The Bradford Ecumenical Home Inc. is celebrating National Grandparents Day Sept. 13.
National Grandparents Day, the first Sunday after Labor Day, is a day to “honor those who have helped shape the character of our nation, and thank these role models for their immeasurable acts of love, care and understanding.”
A party will be held at the home for children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the residents and staff. At 1:30 p.m. the event starts with trout fishing from a very large pool. Fishing poles will be provided.
There will be a bounce house, a 22-foot inflated slide, a magic show performed by Dave Jeffers, caricature drawings by Eric Jones and balloon animals and face painting by Coco the Clown. Hot dogs, snow cones and popcorn will be served. Volunteers from the girls basketball team from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford will be at the event to lend a hand.
