ATLANTA (AP) — Arrest warrants accuse rapper Rick Ross of forcing a man into a guesthouse at his mansion and beating him, chipping his teeth and severely injuring his neck and jaw.
Ross faces kidnapping and assault charges after a U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force and deputies arrested him Wednesday at the mansion in Fayette County, south of Atlanta.
Jim Joyner, a supervisor with the Marshals Service task force, said 39-year-old Ross— whose real name is William Roberts — was jailed without bail on kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated battery charges.
Arrest warrants say Ross’ bodyguard, 42-year-old Nadrian James, faces kidnapping and aggravated battery charges.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether Ross and James have attorneys who could be contacted for comment. A representative for Ross’ record label didn’t immediately return a message.
