ROY, Utah (AP) — Authorities in Utah say a family of four was found shot to death in a home in what they believe is a murder-suicide.
Officers found the bodies of 29-year-old Russell Smith; his wife, 26-year-old Shawna Smith; and their children, 6-year-old Tylee and 2-year-old Blake. Police say it appears Russell Smith shot himself, and they are not looking for any suspects.
Police Lt. Kevin Smith said Monday that the department received a 911 call about an assault at 10 p.m. Sunday from a relative who stopped by the house in Roy, a city about 32 miles north of Salt Lake City.
Smith says there’s no history of police responding to the home near Roy High School. Police have talked to family members and are trying to uncover a motive.
