SMETHPORT — In a battle of early season unbeatens in the AMWL, Cameron County got the best of Smethport, 45-30 Friday.
The match of the night came at 138, where Cameron County’s Paul Etchepare earned a 4-2 overtime decision over Smethport’s Adam Shunk.
“It came down to forfeits, we weren’t able to overcome them,” said Smethport coach Marshall Shunk. “Cameron County has a really nice group of kids and they just had too many horses for us tonight.”
The Red Raiders (3-0 AMWL) received four forfeits total.
Smethport (6-3 overall, 2-1 AMWL) returns to action Tuesday at St. Marys.
