Bradford High was well-represented on the District 10 Region 5 football all-star teams released on Friday.
Being named to the first-team were Steve Zawatski on the offensive line and Kyle Langdon at linebacker.
Being named to the second-team were Langdon at fullback, Alex Colosimo at running back, Brandon Hughes and Rob Rice on the offensive line and Justin Fishkin at linebacker.
“It’s a good thing that we’re well-represented,” said head coach Jeff Puglio. “It’s a testament to the hard work put in during the offseason. That’s where it all starts.”
The Owls went just 2-8, but showed marked improvement from a season ago, and the other coaches in the league certainly saw the same thing.
“The seniors, a lot of them played four years of varsity for us,” noted Puglio. “Kyle Langdon and Rob Rice had really strong careers and Justin Fishkin worked really hard battling back from injury. Brandon Hughes and Steve Zawatski also showed that you can come out and have success if you work hard.”
Puglio also had praise for Colosimo, the lone Owl junior named to the team.
“We’re really excited about the future for Alex,” noted Puglio. “He’s really working hard in the weight room already again this winter.”
Conneaut was the Region 5 champion and also boasted the Region player of the year, dual-threat quarterback and defensive back Hunter Merritt.
