To the citizens of Buffalo, I hope you can dig out in time for the Bills game Sunday.
In all seriousness, all the best to our friends up north, who are seeing one of the worst snow events in the area’s history.
That being said, the Bills, as of Wednesday night, are still slated to host the Jets.
You just can’t keep Buffalonians down.
Now, on to this week’s games.
Were getting to late November, which means it’s time where the cream usually rises to the top and the pretenders slowly start to fade.
A 9-5 mark has me at 109-51-1 (.681).
The Steelers and Panthers are on bye this week.
Let’s go!
Kansas City (7-3) at Oakland (0-10)
Will this be the week the Raiders get their first win? No … KANSAS CITY 24, OAKLAND 14
N.Y. Jets (2-8) at Buffalo (5-5)
As long as the Bills can dig themselves out and make their way to Ralph Wilson Stadium, they should have the upper hand.
Last time the two teams met was also the last time QB Geno Smith saw the field. Three interceptions later, Michael Vick was inserted in place of the embattled second-year signal caller.
Buffalo, quite simply, hasn’t been very good on offense, but they should have enough to beat the Jets at home … BUFFALO 20, N.Y. JETS 17
Cleveland (6-4) at Atlanta (4-6)
Cleveland, at 6-4, is in last place in the AFC North, while Atlanta, at 4-6 occupies first place in the NFC South.
The Browns have followed by big wins this season over Pittsburgh and Baltimore with duds against Jacksonville and Houston.
That being said, they have found a way to rebound after each of those losses.
Plus, the Browns finally get star wide receiver Josh Gordon back from a 10-game suspension. The matchup couldn’t be more ideal, as the Falcons rank dead last in opponents passing yards per game (281.2) … CLEVELAND 27, ATLANTA 24
Tennessee (2-8) at Philadelphia (7-3)
Zach Mettenberger looked good in a loss against the Steelers on Monday night. That’s one of the only positives for a Tennessee team that will be playing on a short week against a Philadelphia team that will be good and mad following a blowout loss to the Packers … PHILADELPHIA 27, TENNESSEE 17
Detroit (7-3) at New England (8-2)
Are the Patriots the Super Bowl favorites in the AFC right now? It would certainly appear so after their sixth straight win, a demolishing of the Colts.
Meanwhile, the schedule makers are doing Detroit now favors, as this road test comes after a meeting with the one-loss Cardinals last week … NEW ENGLAND 28, DETROIT 21
Green Bay (7-3) at Minnesota (4-6)
Relax … GREEN BAY 35, MINNESOTA 20
Jacksonville (1-9) at Indianapolis (6-4)
Indianapolis needs this game with Houston breathing right down its neck. Shouldn’t be a problem. INDIANAPOLIS 31, JACKSONVILLE 20
Cincinnati (6-3-1) at Houston (5-5)
Cincinnati currently finds itself sitting in first place in the musical chairs game that is the AFC North.
Like the rest of their division brethren, the Bengals have had both periods of dominance coupled with real duds.
Sorry, I’ve said it all year, but in a division where I really don’t trust any one of the four teams, I really don’t trust the Bengals … HOUSTON 24, CINCINNATI 17
Tampa Bay (2-8) at Chicago (4-6)
Chicago, I guess. But really, who wants to watch this game? CHICAGO 28, TAMPA BAY 24
Arizona (9-1) at Seattle (6-4)
Arizona has impressed me so much this season but I think Seattle recognizes the magnitude of this game. Plus, it’s just so hard to beat that 12th man … SEATTLE 20, ARIZONA 17
St. Louis (4-6) at San Diego (6-4)
Hey look at the Rams! That was a might impressive win against Peyton Manning and the Broncos.
Who knows what they’ll do against a San Diego team that snapped a three-game losing streak with a rather unimpressive 13-6 win over winless Oakland … SAN DIEGO 12, ST. LOUIS 11
Miami (6-4) at Denver (7-3)
Is Denver in trouble? Well not necessarily, but I don’t think they’re the team to beat anymore in the AFC. Lucky for them, neither is Miami … DENVER 31, MIAMI 24
Washington (3-7) at San Francisco (6-4)
Robert Griffin III better shut up and start playing better football, or he’s going to get run out of Washington … SAN FRANCISCO 27, WASHINGTON 10
Dallas (7-3) at N.Y. Giants (3-7)
This is usually the point in the season where Dallas starts to choke. The Giants, however, have lost five in a row … DALLAS 21, N.Y GIANTS 17
Baltimore (6-4) at New Orleans (4-6)
I don’t trust either of them. I trust Baltimore a little more than New Orleans at this point, though … BALTIMORE 27, NEW ORLEANS 23
