With Halloween quickly approaching, local children are getting excited thinking of their possibilities to create a new identity for the evening.
Dana Lynn McIntyre, 7, is going to wear a pirate costume she was given by her grandmother Judy.
Last year, McIntyre was a bumblebee.
“I didn’t have a stinger, so I was a friendly bumblebee,” she said.
One of her favorite characters is Elsa from Disney’s “Frozen.”
“I like singing, and I know all the words to ‘Let it go’,” she added.
Meanwhile, Treyna Allen, 8, was a vampire witch last year but said she will refrain from trick-or-treating this year.
“I’m not going trick-or-treating because I don’t like candy. I’m going to be a boy alien and hand out candy with the baby-sitter,” she said.
However, if Allen decides to dress up, she said she may dress up as Tinkerbell because she really likes her and they both have blonde hair.
Similar to McIntyre, Allen is also a fan of the movie “Frozen.”
“I really like Prince Hanz and Princess Anna. I like how they get chased by wolves,” she said.
Piper Giordano, 8, was inspired by the lunch ladies at her school.
“I saw all of our lunch ladies wearing blow up chef costumes last year, so this year, I want to be a blow up Smurfette,” she said.
Last year, Giordano was Laguna Blue from the Web series “Monster High.”
She added, “I’m excited to see other’s costumes. We’re going to bring our costumes to school and go to the hospital to trick-or-treat.”
Giordano’s favorite character is Minnie Mouse because she wears pink and bows.
“I like how she dresses and she is very kind on the show,” Giordano added.
When asked what was her favorite thing about fall, she replied, “The leaves. They are all different colors and you can jump in them.”
