The Bonnies were able to move up one spot from where they were entering the day. Led by junior Josh Stauffer’s two-under par 70, St. Bonaventure shot a second round score of 304 for a tournament total of 604. The Bonnies ended up three shots better than Colgate and three behind Lafayette.
Host Binghamton rallied to win the tournament with score of 290 on Monday, which was nine shots better than any other team. The Bearcats finished at 576 to beat first-day leader Delaware by three shots and Robert Morris by eight.
Stauffer’s 70 gave him a two-day total of 144, which was good for a tie for sixth place in the field of 91 players. It was his best finish individually this fall and his second top-10.
St. Bonaventure’s other counting scores Monday were 76 from junior Patrick Milkovich, 78 by freshman Corey Long and 80 from junior Darren Simons. Senior Daniel Dunnigan shot 81. Milkovich totaled 151 for the tournament, good for 31st place, while Long was one shot back at 152. Dunnigan totaled 158 and Simons 166.
The Bonnies are off until the Dayton Invitational Oct. 20-21.
