The Bradford High boys soccer team continues to roll along and is setting some records in the process.
The Owls improved to 11-1 overall and 6-1 in District 10 Region 4 with a 6-0 shutout of Conneaut Monday at Parkway Field.
In sweeping the season series from the Eagles (1-9, 1-6), Ben Jordan scored four goals, giving him 31 on the season, establishing a single-season program record.
The previous record was held by John McGriff, who scored 29 goals in 2004.
“It’s nice when we have somebody who’s able to finish the way he is, said Bradford coach Wes Lohrman. “We have a group of guys that are able to move the ball around and help get him open.”
Their was no letdown from the Owls after a big overtime win against Warren last Thursday, as Jordan also added two assists, while Sawyer Packard and John Obermeyer had the other Bradford goals. Obermeyer also added two assists and Mitch Forbes one.
“The possession is what I was looking for,” Lohrman said. “The play behind the ball to give him (Jordan) those opportunities is what I would like to see at this point,” said Bradford coach Wes Lohrman.
“I felt like we moved a step forward. I saw some things that we can continue to work on. We keep on doing everything we’re doing and be doing it faster by the end of the season.”
Keeper Cody Hennard and the rest of the Bradford defense saw limited action, with Hennard making one save.
Bradford’s JV team was also a winner, 3-0.
Forbes scored all three goals, with Jack Kellam stopping a pair of shots in net.
The Owls return to action Wednesday at Corry.
“We have a lot of work to do,” noted Lohrman. “We have Corry on Wednesday and we’ll go from there.
