SMETHPORT — Smethport’s Laura Alfieri picked up right where she left off last season.

The 2013 District 9 Class AA regional qualifier shot a 49 to earn medallist honors as the Lady Hubbers earned a pair of wins over Cameron County and Coudersport to start the season Tuesday at Smethport Country Club, each by identical 36-19 scores.

Kendyl Guisto shot a 55 to lead Cameron County, while Mary-Kate Elenchin carded a 58 to pace Coudersport.

The Lady Hubbers return to action Monday, when they travel to Pennhills to take on Bradford.
