SMETHPORT — Bradford and Smethport split an Elk County American Legion doubleheader Wednesday.
Game 1 went to the visitors from Bradford 6-4, as Ryan Boyer went 3-for-4 and Seth Drummond 2-for-4, each with a double, while Nunzio Cavallaro delivered a two-run single.
Boyer and Garret Brugh shared the mound duties, striking seven, allowing seven hits and walking five.
Nate Wilber had the big offensive blow for Smethport, belting a home run as part of a 2-for-3 effort, while Clay Schuler doubled.
Ryan Corbett and Cory Burr combined to allow seven hits, strike out six and walk three.
The second game was equally competitive and won 6-5 by Smethport (6-3).
Schuler went the distance on the mound to get the win, striking out 10, allowing seven hits and six walks.
Corbett went 2-for-2 with a double and Ryan Neilsen was 2-for-4 for Smethport.
For Bradford (4-2), Andrew Bacha was 2-for-2 with a double and Brugh was 2-for-4.
Brugh and Bacha were also on the mound, striking out five, allowing eight hits and four walks.
