SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — An attorney for Gregg Allman says the singer’s inclusion in a wrongful death lawsuit in Georgia is “unfortunate, unwarranted and without merit.”
Attorney David Long-Daniels issued a statement Friday, two days after Allman was sued by the parents of a film worker killed Feb. 20 when a train smashed into a crew making a movie about the singer’s life. Allman was an executive producer on the “Midnight Rider” project. He is among 18 defendants named in the lawsuit by the family of Sarah Jones.
Long-Daniels says Allman had previously expressed his condolences to Jones’ family and remained in touch with them as recently as last week. He says the singer had creative input into the film’s script, music and casting, but played no role in its physical production.
