GALETON — Coudersport swept Galeton in a softball doubleheader Wednesday, winning 6-2 and 16-1 in 4 1/2 innings.
Keirsten Counts tossed a five-hitter to lead the Lady Falcons in the first game. Counts sat down 10 on strikes and didn’t allow a walk in going the distance.
At the plate, Counts went 2-for-2 with an RBI triple.
Latascia Shadle suffered the loss, giving up 11 hits, whiffing 11 and issuing five base-on-balls.
Courtney Rogers (3-for-4, 2-run double) and Macy Gleason (2-run double, RBI single) also contributed in the win.
Mataya McPherson had an RBI double for Galeton.
In the second game, Katie Bertrand fired a two-hitter, struck out one and walked one for the Lady Falcons.
Brianna Majot (3-for-3, double, 2 RBIs), Counts (2-for-3, 2-run double, 4 RBIs) and Rogers (2-run double) keyed Coudy’s nine-hit attack.
McPherson was the losing hurler.
Shadle and Shaleigh Proctor singled for the Lady Tigers (0-2).
Coudy (2-1) hosts Austin on Friday.
