EMPORIUM — Cameron County opened up its track and field season with a pair of wins over Sheffield on Wednesday.
The boys won by a 97-50 score, while the girls triumphed 85-62.
Brooke Burfield was the star for the Cameron County ladies, quadrupling in the 100, 200, long jump and 400 relay along with Madison Harrier, Brittany Standeven and Kendyl Guisto.
Alayna Genevro (800, 1600, 3200 relay) and Corrine Burnside (javelin, 1600 relay, 3200 relay) both tripled for the winners.
On the boys side, Caleb Burnside (100, 200, 400 relay) tripled for Cameron.
In addition, Trae Smith also qualified for districts in the javelin with a throw of 155’1, finishing second to teammate Cameron Horning (168’1”).
The Red Raiders are at the Kane Invite Saturday and have a tri-meet with Smethport and Oswayo Valley Tuesday.
