KANE — Kane High School won 12 events en route to a 91-58 track and field win over Bradford on Tuesday.
Zeshon Veite tripled for the Owls (1-1), winning all three jumps. He had a personal best of 5’10’’ in in the high jump, went 38’10’’ in the triple jump and 18’10’’ in the long jump.
In addition, Veite anchored the 4×100 relay team of Jacob Soto, Mitch Vleminckx and Alex Colosimo to a season-best of 47.07, barely losing to Kane by .13.
Noah Whittemore won the 100 and 200 meters. Steve Zawatski took the javelin with a throw of 149’8’’. Vleminckx placed second in the 100 and long jump. Colosimo was second in the 300 intermediate hurdles with a personal best of 44.57 and another best mark of 25.26 in the 200 meters for second place.
Brandon Hughes was second in the javelin (135’8’’) while Kyle Whitmer was second in the shot put (36’4’’). Hunter Ackley had a personal best of 11:00.2 in the 3200 for third place while Justin Keller tied for second in the pole vault (11’9’’).
Tyler Nuzzo was second in the 1600 (5:02.13) and third in the 800 (2:18). Anthony Uhl had a personal best in the 3200 (11:34 ).
“It was a tough day for us,” Bradford coach Tom Tessena said. “We were beaten by a better team today and maybe we learned a few things. We have much work to accomplish if we are going to become a team this season.”
Chris Hunt had at least a triple and Nate Moore at least a double for the Wolves.
Bradford travels to the Harbor Creek Invitational on Saturday.
