MANSFIELD — Coudersport opened up its season in impressive fashion, earning a 12-3 win over Mansfield on Thursday.
It was the first time outside for the Falcons, but you wouldn’t have known it by their level of execution at the plate and in the field.
Coudy (1-0) scored five runs in the second inning and seven more in the fifth and collected 12 hits as a team.
Andrew Rigas led the way, going 3-for-4, while Nevada Waterman was 2-for-4 with a double and Ethan Hite tripled.
Hite was effective on the mound, striking out four.
Coudersport has a week off before its second game, when they travel to Otto-Eldred and then follow that up with a home game against Oswayo Valley the following day.
