A new massage and reflexology shop called Superb Chinese Massage will open today at 113 Main St.
Owner Lucy Tian told The Era onMonday that the shop will offer accupressure and foot reflexology in addition to massages.
“There is a lot for people to come and enjoy,” she said.
Tian hails from Yichun City in the Heilongjiang province of China, where she studied massage before moving to the United States in 2011.
She said she sometimes misses China, but loves living in America where she can own her own business. “I like America. Here everybody is so kind, the people are so nice,” Tian stated.
She said Americans are great customers for massage and she believes the business will be a success.
“I think many American people love massage,” Tian said. “Many people really like it because it makes the body feel so good.”
When asked why she decided to open the shop in Bradford, she said because she “likes the town and it’s in the country,” noting that she wants to have a job and do “good work” while in the United States.
“I feel if you do massage it will fix your body,” Tian added. “It brings good health and makes you feel young. It relaxes and calms the body.”
She said massage is especially good for “old people who feel not so good” and those who have a lot of stress in their lives, but all ages can benefit from massage.
“Anyone, any age — they are welcome to come in any time,” Tian stated.
The shop accepts appointments or walk-in customers alike.
Giving the massages will be Tian and one other female worker, and the shop will be open seven days a week, 12 hours a day.
